How to fund your Interactive Brokers account from GrabrFi

You can fund your Interactive Brokers account straight from your GrabrFi global account with a blockchain transfer. It usually arrives in minutes, any day of the week, including nights, weekends and holidays.

If you get paid in dollars and want to start investing, the hard part is usually moving the money: international wires are slow, expensive and stuck to banking hours. This guide shows you how to send dollars from GrabrFi to Interactive Brokers, how to bring them back, and what to check so every transfer lands where it should.

Watch the video tutorial:

What is Interactive Brokers?

Interactive Brokers (IBKR) is one of the largest US online brokerages. It lets you buy and sell stocks, ETFs, bonds, options and more across 170 markets worldwide, from one account.

It's one of the brokerages GrabrFi customers use most, because it accepts clients from many countries outside the US. To invest there, you first need to put dollars into your IBKR account. That's where GrabrFi comes in.

Can I fund Interactive Brokers from GrabrFi?

Yes. Interactive Brokers accepts deposits by blockchain transfer, and GrabrFi can send them directly from your global account. No middle app, no exchange, no extra steps.

Here's how it works:

  1. Interactive Brokers gives you a deposit address for your account (it's generated by zerohash, IBKR's provider for these deposits).

  2. You send dollars from GrabrFi to that address as a blockchain transfer, in USDC.

  3. zerohash converts the USDC to US dollars 1:1 and credits your IBKR account, usually within minutes.

  4. Your money is ready to invest.

Because blockchain transfers don't depend on banking hours, you can fund your account at 11 p.m. on a Sunday and be ready when the market opens on Monday.

Before you start

Check these four things once and every transfer after that takes a couple of minutes.

  • An open Interactive Brokers account. Blockchain deposits are available to eligible clients of Interactive Brokers LLC. They're not available for accounts held with Interactive Brokers (U.K.) or Interactive Brokers Ireland. You can check your eligibility at ibkr.com/stablecoin.

  • Stablecoin deposits enabled in IBKR. The first time, IBKR asks you to turn on the feature and accept its agreements.

  • Your GrabrFi global account with a balance to send.

  • The right currency and network. Both apps have to use the same ones:

Our recommendation: send USDC on Base or Solana. IBKR doesn't accept USDT, and sending on Ethereum isn't available from GrabrFi.

How to fund your IBKR account, step by step

There's no login to link: you connect the two accounts by getting your IBKR deposit address and saving it in GrabrFi. After the first time, you open IBKR only to confirm the address, and send from your saved recipient in GrabrFi.

In Interactive Brokers: get your deposit address

  1. Log in to the IBKR app or Client Portal and go to Transfer & Pay → Transfer Funds → Make a Deposit.

  2. Choose Fund with Stablecoin. If it's your first time, enable stablecoin deposits and accept the agreements.

  3. Select USDC as the currency and Base or Solana as the network.

  4. Copy the wallet address IBKR shows you, or keep the QR code open on screen.

In GrabrFi: send the transfer

  1. Open the GrabrFi app and tap Transfers → Send a blockchain transfer.

  2. Select USDC and the same network you chose in IBKR (Base or Solana).

  3. Paste the IBKR address or scan the QR code. Save it as a recipient (for example, "My IBKR account") so next time it's one tap.

  4. Enter the amount, review the fee and the total, and confirm.

  5. That's it. IBKR converts your USDC to dollars and credits your account, usually within minutes. You'll see it under Transfer & Pay → Transfer History.

Tip: the first time, send a small amount to check everything works before you move a larger one.

How to withdraw from IBKR back to GrabrFi

You can also move money the other way. IBKR converts the dollars in your brokerage account to USDC and sends them to your GrabrFi global account by blockchain transfer.

In GrabrFi: get your receiving address

  1. In the GrabrFi app, go to Transfers and choose to receive a blockchain transfer.

  2. Select USDC and the network (Base or Solana).

  3. Copy your GrabrFi address.

In Interactive Brokers: request the withdrawal

  1. Go to Transfer & Pay → Transfer Funds → Withdraw Funds and choose the stablecoin option.

  2. Add your GrabrFi address as a new destination, with USDC and the same network you picked in GrabrFi. IBKR asks for two-factor authentication and an identity check to save it.

  3. Enter the amount in dollars and confirm. Most withdrawals arrive within minutes.

Good to know:

  • Money you deposited by blockchain transfer can have a hold of up to 30 business days before IBKR lets you withdraw it again. Plan ahead if you might need it back soon.

  • You can only withdraw settled cash. If you just sold an investment, wait for the sale to settle.

  • IBKR's default withdrawal limits are US$25,000 a day and US$100,000 a month. Limits can vary by account and country.

Some US brokerages don't accept bank deposits from GrabrFi. For Interactive Brokers, a blockchain transfer is the route we recommend.

Fees and limits can change. Check IBKR's stablecoin page for its latest numbers.

Keep your transfers on track

Blockchain transfers are fast, and they can't be reversed. These checks take seconds and save you from losing money:

  • Same currency, same network, both sides. If IBKR shows USDC on Solana, send USDC on Solana from GrabrFi. A transfer on the wrong network can't be recovered.

  • Copy and paste, never type. Then compare the first and last 4 characters of the address before you confirm.

  • Use the QR code when you can. It avoids copy errors.

  • Start small the first time, then send the rest.

  • Re-check the address in IBKR before each deposit, in case it changed.

  • Nobody from GrabrFi or IBKR will ever ask you to send money to an address over chat, email or phone. Only use addresses you get inside each app.
