1. What is the GrabrFi local withdrawal service?
The local withdrawal feature allows you to withdraw to local currency by sending funds directly to a bank account in your home country. By using local payment rails (like Pix in Brazil or CLABE in Mexico), we bypass expensive international wire fees, making it the most cost-effective way to access your money.
2. What are the limits to withdraw to local currency?
As of 2026, we have standardized our limits to provide better flexibility:
Daily Withdrawal Limit: $5,000 USD
Per-Transaction Limit: $5,000 USD
Note: These limits apply to the total amount sent within a 24-hour window.
3. How do I start a withdrawal to my local bank?
To withdraw to local currency, follow these steps:
Open the GrabrFi app and go to the "Transfers" tab.
Select "Withdraw to local currency"
Choose your destination country (ARS, BOB, BRL, COP, MXN, NGN, or PEN).
Enter the amount (Up to $5,000 USD).
Input the recipient's bank details (e.g., CBU/CVU, Pix, CLABE, or CCI).
Review the guaranteed exchange rate and click Confirm.
4. Can I cancel a withdrawal?
You can request a cancellation, but it is only possible if the transfer has not been processed yet. Once the status moves to "Processing" or "Sent," the funds have already entered the banking system and can no longer be stopped.
5. What happens if my transaction is rejected?
If you attempt to withdraw to local currency and the transaction is rejected by the receiving bank (due to incorrect info or account limits), you will receive a refund to your GrabrFi balance. Please note that a $10 USD rejection fee is deducted from the refund amount by the processing bank.
6. Is the exchange rate for the withdrawals guaranteed?
Yes. When you initiate a local transfer, the app displays a real-time exchange rate. Once you confirm the transaction to withdraw to local currency, that rate is "locked in." You will receive the exact amount of local currency shown on the final review screen.
7. How long does a local withdrawal take to arrive?
Brazil: Usually near-instant or same-day via Pix.
Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia & Nigeria: Often same-day or within 24 hours.
