SWIFT transfer delayed or returned: what to do

SWIFT transfers are currently available to a limited group of customers only. If you don’t see the International tab in your Dollar account details, SWIFT transfers aren’t available for your account yet, and any SWIFT transfer sent to you will be returned. We’ll let you know as soon as they’re available for you.

Why a SWIFT transfer may be delayed or returned

  • The sender's bank is in a country we don't support yet

  • The transfer wasn't sent in US dollars

  • The recipient name doesn't match your full name in GrabrFi

  • The sender used outdated details, for example an old SWIFT/BIC code

  • The sender is not you, your employer, or a client paying from a business account

  • The payment reference is missing or doesn't explain what the transfer is for

  • The transfer needs an additional compliance review

Returned transfers go back to the account they were sent from. If that account has been closed, the return can't be completed and the sender needs to contact their bank. Fees charged by the sender's bank or intermediary banks are not refunded.

My transfer hasn't arrived

  1. Check with the sender that they used the details from your app and that their bank is in a supported country.

  2. Wait for the processing time shown in Transfers: settlement times and cut-off times.

  3. Ask the sender for the transfer confirmation from their bank (the SWIFT confirmation, also called MT103).

  4. Contact our support team and share:

    • Sender's name

    • Sending bank and country

    • Date the transfer was sent

    • Amount

    • The MT103 confirmation or the transfer reference number

We'll track the transfer and get back to you.
