Your GrabrFi account now includes two separate balances: your USD checking account and a stablecoin wallet. The stablecoin wallet lets you hold, send, and receive stablecoins directly, without converting to or from USD first.
Two balances, one account
USD checking account: Holds US dollars. FDIC insured up to $250,000 through Regent Bank. Linked to your debit card. Supports ACH and wire transfers.
Stablecoin wallet: Holds USDB (a USD-pegged stablecoin issued by Bridge, a Stripe company) or USDC, depending on your country. Not FDIC insured. Supports direct stablecoin sends and receives on supported blockchain networks.
What can you do with the stablecoin wallet?
Hold stablecoins. Keep a stablecoin balance in your wallet without it being converted to USD.
Send stablecoins. Send USDC, USDT, or PYUSD to any supported external address directly from your wallet balance. No ACH delay.
Receive stablecoins. Receive supported stablecoins to your permanent wallet deposit addresses. Incoming tokens are auto-converted to your wallet currency.
Convert between USD and stablecoins. Move funds between your checking account and wallet. Conversions are processed via ACH, typically same business day.
Receive ACH or wire to wallet. Use your wallet bank account details to receive USD via ACH or domestic wire. Incoming USD is automatically converted to stablecoins.
USDB vs. USDC: which wallet currency do I get?
Your wallet currency is assigned automatically based on your country of residence and cannot be changed:
EEA countries: USDC (issued by Circle)
All other supported countries: USDB (issued by Bridge, a Stripe company)
See the full list of supported countries at grabrfi.com/about.
Do I need additional verification?
If you were already approved for stablecoin transfers (via the stablecoin questionnaire), no additional verification is needed. The same approval covers the stablecoin wallet.
If you have not yet completed the stablecoin questionnaire, you will be prompted to do so when you first access the wallet.
What about my existing stablecoin receive addresses?
Important: Your existing stablecoin receive addresses (linked to your checking account) still work exactly as before. Stablecoins sent to those addresses will continue to be auto-converted to USD and deposited into your checking account. To receive stablecoins directly to your new wallet, use the new wallet receive addresses found in the wallet section of the app.
