Date: July 25th, 2023

We added some error messages for card purchases and transfers so you can easily understand what happened and how you might be able to fix it.

Card purchase error messages

  • Incorrect PIN: The purchase failed due to an incorrect PIN code. Please enter it again or try tapping with your card to pay (if the terminal lets you).

  • Card Inactive: Your card was inactive while the purchase was being processed.

  • Incorrect CVV: The purchased was canceled due to an incorrect CVV (3-digit code). Please enter it again.

  • AVS Mismatch: The purchase was canceled and refunded because the billing address you entered does not match the billing address on your GrabrFi account. Sometimes you can bypass this issue by using Apple Pay or Google Pay to pay.

  • Terminal Error: The purchase was canceled and refunded due to a processing error on the merchant's side. Please try again or ask the merchant if they have another terminal you can use.

  • Customer Cancellation: You canceled this purchase and the amount has been refunded to your GrabrFi balance.

  • Expiration of Pre-authorization: The merchant did not proceed with the charge and the amount was refunded to your GrabrFi balance. This is common with security deposits.

Transfer error messages

  • Invalid Account: The transfer was returned because the system couldn't find an account with the recipient's details. Please double check these details and try again. For incoming transfers, make sure you or your sender enters your full name on GrabrFi.

  • Account Closed: The transfer was returned because your account was closed.

Error messages for both card purchases and transfers

  • Transaction Blocked: The transaction failed because it exceeded your outgoing transfer or spending limits. Here are the outgoing transfer limits and spending limits.

  • Insufficient Funds: Your account balance was not enough to cover the transaction amount at the time it was processed.
